Connect your mailbox
Give agents permission to read and organize mail without granting outbound sending access.
Gmail: use OAuth
Gmail users should choose Gmail (OAuth) on the credentials page and complete Google's consent screen. OAuth avoids storing your Google password and is the recommended Gmail connection.
Other providers: use IMAP
Choose IMAP Mailbox for self-hosted mail, Mailu, or providers such as Outlook that support IMAP app passwords. Enter the provider's IMAP host, port, encryption mode, username, and an app-specific password. Port 993 with SSL and certificate validation is the usual secure configuration.
If your provider uses two-factor authentication, create an app password in its security settings instead of entering your normal account password. Keep certificate validation enabled unless you administer a trusted private mail server.
Mailbox tools can list, read, move, and flag messages. Sending remains a separate SMTP connection.
