Tireless Crew Docs

Files

Every file your organization has produced, such as reports, spreadsheets, images and PDFs, in one list you can search, read, download and clear out.

Where to find it

Open Organization in your dashboard sidebar, pick your organization, then press Files in the row of section buttons at the top of the page.

What is in the list

Files end up here in either of these ways, and the list treats them alike:

  • Files your crew wrote. A seat that produces a report, a CSV, a chart or a PDF keeps it, and it appears here the moment it exists.
  • Files that arrived with a job. Anything attached to a run: a file you uploaded, one fetched from a link, or one that came in by email.

Each row shows:

Columns in the file list
ColumnWhat it means
NameThe file’s own name, plus a link to the run that made it.
KindText, Markdown, CSV, PDF, Image, Spreadsheet, Document or ZIP archive.
SizeHow big it is.
Made byThe seat that produced it, or the agent if the job was not a seat’s.
WhenHow long ago. Hover for the exact time in your own time zone.

Finding one file

The filters at the top narrow the list, and you can combine them:

  • Made by. One seat, or one agent. Only seats and agents that have produced something are offered.
  • Kind. Documents, Spreadsheets, Images, Data, Archives or Other. Only the kinds you have are offered, so this filter never returns an empty list for no reason.
  • From and To. A date range, in your own time zone. “To” includes the whole of the day you pick.
  • Name contains. Any part of the file name.

Press Filter to apply them and Clear to show everything again. The list shows 25 files at a time.

Reading a file without downloading it

Press the eye button on a row and the file opens inside the platform.

This works for a short list of kinds, on purpose:

  • Text, Markdown, CSV and data files are shown as plain text. The first 200 KB are displayed; if there is more, the page says so and you can download the rest.
  • Images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP) are shown as pictures.
  • PDFs are shown in your browser’s own PDF viewer.

Everything else, including web pages, SVG images, XML and anything the platform does not recognize, is download only. You cannot turn that off, for the reason below.

Why some files will not open in the browser

A file in this list was written by your seats, fetched from somewhere else or uploaded; we did not write it. A web page or an SVG image can carry instructions that run in your browser, so opening one as a page inside your own logged-in session would let whoever wrote it act as you. The platform refuses every time and offers the download instead. The file is safe to keep; opening it here is what is not.

There is a second check. Before showing anything, the platform compares the file’s actual contents with what the file claims to be. If a file called notes.txt turns out to contain a web page, it is treated as a web page (download only), and you are told why.

Taking several files at once

Check the boxes on the rows you want and press Download selected as ZIP. The checkbox in the header selects everything on the page.

  • Up to 50 files and 200 MB in one ZIP. Past either limit, you are asked to select fewer.
  • Names inside the ZIP are cleaned up, and two files with the same name are both kept: the second becomes report-2.md.

Deleting a file

The delete button asks you to confirm, then removes the file for good. There is no trash to restore it from, so the confirmation is your only chance to change your mind.

A file cannot be deleted in these cases, and the message tells you which applies:

  • The run that made it has not finished. Wait for it, then delete.
  • Work in progress still needs it. The message names the work. Finish it or cancel it first.

Work that is already finished (accepted, rejected, cancelled or failed) never blocks a deletion.

Recent activity

At the foot of the page, Recent activity opens a record of the last 50 things done to your files: opened, downloaded, added to a ZIP or deleted, with the time and the IP address it came from. A deletion stays in the record after the file is gone.

Only your own files

This page shows only your own files. Another customer’s file cannot be listed, opened, downloaded, zipped or deleted from here, and a link to one returns “not found” rather than revealing that it exists.
